September 27, 2006 Appointment

Today was the first of our weekly appointments. I am now 36 weeks along and Baby J is measuring just right. Our doctor said she seems to weigh somewhere around 6 lbs. and said that I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. While this was exciting news, it can be typical to stay like this for a couple of weeks. However, the doctor did say that she was willing to bet that I would have Baby J before the due date. So, who knows what will happen. We don’t have any expectations and know that Baby J will make her appearance when she is good and ready. Her heartbeat was 154, which was faster than the last appointment, probably because Trent and the doctor were trying to figure out how Baby J was situated on the outside of my belly. She is definitely facing head down, which is exactly what we wanted to hear. My protein levels and iron were also fine. So, another healthy appointment and one week closer to meeting our soon-to-be new family member. Peapod and Indiana are getting very excited about the pending birth of their little sister.
