It’s a Girl!
This was definitely the most exciting appointment yet. We went in hoping that Baby J would be on good behavior and cooperative. We had asked that once the sonographer got to the “private parts” to write the gender down, leave the room, and let us have a “moment” to enjoy it. After seeing the head, heart, spine, arms, and legs, she got to the pivotal moment and said, “Well, I’ll leave and let you two discuss.” We looked at each other and said, “Well, what is it? We have a guess, but aren’t sure.” She said, “It’s a girl!” and then left the room laughing after Becca said, “Are you kidding?”. Some tears of joy were shed and she came back to explain in more detail. The lady that did our ultrasound has been doing them for 27 years and has never been wrong (at least that’s what she tells us). So, our little “shim” is now a she! We are both so excited. Baby J was approximately 11 ounces and had an average heartbeat of about 149. Becca measured at exactly 20 weeks, which was good, too. All tests are normal as well. We have told everyone now and are starting to think pink!
